Sequence Send Window and Timezone
Whose 9am the window means, and what the timezone picker is for.
A sequence runs for weeks, so it needs to know when it is allowed to work. The Send Window on the sequence builder sets that: a start time, an end time, the days of the week, and a timezone.
The controls
Start Time / End Time
time
optional
The hours within which an email may be written and sent. Outside them, a contact whose email is due simply waits.
Default: 09:00 - 17:00
Send Days
days of the week
optional
Which days the window applies on. A day that is switched off sends nothing at all.
Default: Monday to Friday
Timezone
timezone
optional
The fallback clock, used only for contacts whose own timezone Zyntro does not know.
Default: your organization's timezone
Which clock is used, in order
| Checked | Clock | Used when |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | The contact's own timezone | Zyntro knows it — which is the normal case, and why a nurture email lands at a sensible local hour. |
| 2nd | The timezone on this sequence | The contact has none of their own. This is the picker on the Send Window card. |
| 3rd | Your brand's timezone | The sequence was saved before the picker existed and carries no timezone of its own. |
| last | UTC | Nothing above is set. |
How the window behaves
| Situation | What happens |
|---|---|
| Two contacts an hour apart, window 09:00-17:00 | A contact in Kuala Lumpur and one in Bangkok are an hour apart. At 09:42 in Kuala Lumpur the first is inside the window and is written to; the second, at 08:42 local, waits another eighteen minutes. Neither is late — each is on their own clock. |
| A window that crosses midnight | 22:00 to 06:00 is treated as one window running overnight, not as two. Rarely the right choice for email, but it behaves as you would expect. |
| Only a start time, or only an end | A half-set window is treated as no window at all, so a sequence is never silently blocked by an incomplete setting. |
| A window too narrow for the cadence | An hourly delay inside a two-hour window gives two emails a day at most, whatever the delay says. The window always wins — an email due outside it waits. |
Tip: Set the picker to the timezone most of your unknown-timezone contacts are likely in, not to your own. It is the only clock those contacts will be judged against.
