Organising Videos with Categories
A category is a label you create — Onboarding, Product Tours, Customer Stories, Webinars. You assign them to videos, and the library list filters by them.
Categories are per brand. Each gets a colour, which is how they are told apart in the settings list.
Before You Begin
Steps
Open Video Settings
From the library, choose Video Settings. The Video Categories panel lists the categories for the brand you are currently working in.
Add a category
Type a name, pick a colour, and choose Add. It appears in the list immediately.
Name categories after how you will want to filter, not after how the video was made. Customer Stories is a useful filter. 2025 Recordings stops being useful in January.
Rename or remove one
Each row has a pencil to rename and a bin to delete. Renaming is safe — videos keep their assignment and simply show the new name.
Deleting removes the category itself. The videos are untouched; they just lose that label.
Assign categories when adding a video
The Add Videos form shows your categories as toggles once you have chosen Playable Video. Switch on the ones that apply.
If you have no categories yet, the form tells you and links here.
Assign them later from the video
Open any video's settings page from the gear icon in the library. The Categories panel there has the same toggles, and changes save with the rest of that page.
This is the easier route when you are categorising videos you added before you had categories.
Filter the library
The library list has a category dropdown next to the search box. Choose one and the list shows only videos carrying it, with the count updating to match.
Search and category filter work together: you can search within a category.
Result
Your library can be narrowed to one group of videos in one click, and the count tells you how many are in it. For a library of a dozen videos this is a convenience. Past fifty it is the difference between finding a video and giving up.
Info: Categories are for your own organisation. They are not shown on a video's public page, and they are not what Segmentation Intelligence uses to decide which video suits a contact — that comes from the summary and tags Zyntro writes from the transcript.
Tip: Keep the list short. Five or six categories that each hold several videos are more useful than twenty that hold one each, and a category holding a single video is doing no work.
