Sending a Video to a Contact

Pasting a video link into a blank email and writing "thought this might be useful" is the version of this most people do. It works, and it is forgettable.

The video's settings page has a Send this video to a contact box instead. Search for the person, and Zyntro writes the email — drawing on what the video actually covers and on what it knows about that contact.

Before You Begin

Steps

Open the video and find the send box

From the library, click the gear icon on the video's row. In Appearance Settings, below the thumbnail slider, is Send this video to a contact.

Find the contact

Type a name, an email address or a company. Matching contacts appear as you type; choose one.

The search covers your CRM, so this only works for people already recorded there. It will not create a contact for an address you type in.

Let Zyntro write the email

A draft is composed as soon as you choose the contact. This takes a few seconds, and it is not a template with a name slotted in — it is written for this video and this person.

What goes into it: the video's summary and description, so the message can say what the video covers; what is recorded about the contact, so it can say why that matters to them; and your booking links and forms, so it can offer a next step rather than ending flatly.

Read it before you send it

The subject line and the body are both editable. Read them.

The two things worth checking every time: that any claim it makes about the video is actually in the video, and that the reason it gives for sending is one you would stand behind if the person replied asking about it.

Send now or schedule it

Send Immediately sends on confirmation. Schedule for Later reveals a date and a time.

Scheduling is worth using. A video link arriving at nine on a Tuesday morning gets watched; the same link arriving at eleven at night does not.

Confirm

Send the email. It goes out through your normal sending setup, so it comes from your usual address and is recorded against the contact like any other message you have sent them.

Result

The contact receives an email that explains why this video is worth their time, with a link to its public page. The send is recorded against their record, and once they watch it the viewing figures pick it up.

Tip: This is the right tool for a handful of people, chosen deliberately. For the same video going to a segment, let Segmentation Intelligence include it in the messages it is already composing — it will pick its moment per contact rather than sending everyone the same thing on the same day.

Important: The draft is written from the video's summary and description. If those are wrong — because the captions were misheard, or because nobody has read what was written — the email will be confidently wrong about what you are sending. Read the summary once before you use this on a video for the first time.

Info: Marking a video private does not stop you sending it this way. Private withholds a video from automatic selection; sending it yourself to a named person is a deliberate act and remains available.
