The Presenter Console
Where you watch the room from.
A live webinar is presented in Google Meet, but it is run from the console. The console is where you start the conference, see who has arrived, and close the session out so the attendance is accurate.
It carries a short numbered guide of its own, and it changes as the session progresses — so what you see depends on where you are.
The three phases
Before the conference
— The console waits, offering a button to open Google Meet. Nothing has started and the webinar is still Scheduled.
Live
— Reached on its own once the conference is detected as running. The console shows who is in the room and lets you match them to your contacts. The webinar's status flips to Live Now by itself.
Ended
— The conference is over. This is where you finalise the attendance and run the processing that produces the follow-ups.
What the console does for you
Detects the conference
Automatic
optional
You do not tell the console you have started. It notices, and moves itself into the live phase.
Tracks participants
Automatic
optional
Who is in the meeting, updated while you present.
Matches people to contacts
Automatic, with a manual fallback
optional
Participants are matched to registered attendees by name or by the way they joined. Anyone it cannot place, you can match by hand.
Finalises watch time
Automatic, with a manual fallback
optional
Precise watch durations are pulled from the meeting once it is over.
Runs the follow-up
Automatic, with a manual fallback
optional
Produces the per-attendee emails, engagement reports and activity records.
Info: The last three steps all happen on their own when the conference ends. The buttons exist because automatic steps occasionally need a nudge — pressing them when they have already run does no harm.
