The Waiting Room
A countdown, a redirect, or nothing at all.
The waiting room is the page a registrant sits on between arriving and the session starting. It does very different things depending on the type, and for one type it is invisible.
What the waiting room does
| Type | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Evergreen | Sends them straight to the video. There is nothing to wait for, so the page is never really seen. |
| Just-in-Time | Counts down to their chosen slot, then moves them into the session. Offers the replay if the session has already finished. |
| Live | Sends them to the Google Meet session. |
Worth knowing
It moves people on by itself
No action needed
optional
A Just-in-Time attendee does not have to press anything when their slot arrives. Leaving the tab open is enough.
Attendance is marked on the way through
Live webinars
optional
A live attendee's attendance is recorded as they pass through to the meeting. If that step is slow, they are sent on anyway after a few seconds rather than being left stuck.
No meeting link yet
Live webinars
optional
If a live webinar has no meeting link — Go Live was never pressed — registrants stay in the waiting room instead of being sent nowhere.
Warning: Registrants stuck in the waiting room for a live session almost always means Go Live was never pressed, so no meeting exists for them to join. Check the Setup column on My Webinars reads Meet Ready.
