Reviewing the Extracted Strategy

The list you approve is the list SI follows.

The review screen opens beside the drawer when a reading pass finishes, and from Review extracted strategy afterwards. It shows a summary of the document and a card for each item found.

This is the authoritative step. What you save here is what SI follows — so an item that misreads your intent is worth fixing now.

Steps

Read the summary

A short account of what the document is and who it was written for. Edit it if it has the wrong end of the stick.

Check each item's kind

Every item is an outcome, a directive, a talking point, a proof point, something to avoid, or a note on tone. The kind changes how it is treated — avoid items are read as prohibitions, not preferences.

Check how strongly it should be followed

Must follow, Should follow or Nice to have. Must-follow items are the ones that reach a message first.

Check the moment it applies to

Each item names the point in the relationship it is for — never responded, first touches, they reply, ongoing relationship, gone quiet, or any moment. This is what lets SI use your "when they go quiet" guidance only when someone has actually gone quiet.

Add what the document missed

Add item puts an empty card at the top. Things you know but never wrote down belong here as much as anything extracted.

Remove what does not belong

The bin icon on a card drops it. Items that are really product description rather than guidance are worth removing — they dilute the list.

Save strategy

Keep at least one item. Saving replaces the stored list with what is on screen.

Result

The strategy is active. When SI next writes to someone it applies to, it works from the items that fit that moment.

A quotation appears under an item where the document said something directly. That is there so you can check the reading against your own words.

Info: If the screen lists what the document leaves open, those are questions the document did not answer. They are not errors — they are a useful list of what to add the next time you revise it.

Troubleshooting

Re-parse reads the document from scratch. Anything you added or edited by hand is replaced by the new reading, so re-parse before you do detailed editing, not after.

A strategy needs at least one item, and an item needs text. Empty cards are dropped when you save.

A long document can produce a long list. Remove the ones that are not really instructions — a tight list is followed more faithfully than an exhaustive one.
