Creating a Webinar
From Create Webinar to a webinar in draft.
Create Webinar opens a four-step builder: Type, Details, Schedule and Video. The last step changes depending on what you chose first — for a live webinar it becomes the meeting setup instead.
You are not committing to anything. The webinar is created as a draft and everything in it can be changed afterwards.
Before You Begin
- A decision about the type — it shapes the rest of the builder and is not worth changing later.
- For a pre-recorded webinar, the video file ready to upload.
Steps
Step 1 — Type
Three cards: Live Webinar, Evergreen Webinar and Just-in-Time Webinar. Each lists what it gives you. This is the only step with a decision you should not revisit.
Step 2 — Details
The title, the headline and the brief. The title names it internally; the headline is the line that persuades someone on the registration page, so it is worth more thought than the title. Duration defaults to 60 minutes.
Step 3 — Schedule
What this asks for depends on the type. A live webinar wants a date, a time and a timezone. An evergreen webinar wants nothing — it is always available. A Just-in-Time webinar wants the pattern its slots are generated from.
Step 4 — Video, or the meeting setup
A pre-recorded webinar needs its video uploaded here. A live webinar gets Google Meet Setup instead, where the meeting is arranged for you — there is nothing to paste in.
Result
The webinar exists, in Draft, and appears on My Webinars with a Setup badge telling you what is still missing — Needs Video or Needs Meet until that part is done, then Video Ready or Meet Ready.
From here the work moves to the editor, where the registration page, the polls, the offers and the follow-up all live.
Troubleshooting
That is expected on anything long. You can leave the page — it keeps working, and the badge on the list turns to Video Ready when it finishes.
Create it again with the right type. A live session and a recording need different things, so converting leaves a webinar that is half of each.
