Handouts

Files attendees can take away.

A handout is a file from your library that attendees can download during the session — slides, a worksheet, a checklist, a price list.

Before You Begin

  • The file must already be in your library. Handouts are attached from there rather than uploaded into the webinar.

Steps

Open the webinar's Handouts tab

The badge shows how many are attached.

Choose the file

From your existing library, so the same document can be a handout on several webinars without being uploaded twice.

Give it a display name

Optional, and worth setting. Attendees should not be reading your filenames.

Decide when it becomes available

A point in seconds, or zero for available throughout. Timing a handout to the moment you mention it works better than having everything available at once.

Result

Attendees can download the file from the session, and whether each of them did is recorded against them — so a download is a signal of interest in the same way a poll answer is.

Info: Handouts point at the file in your library rather than copying it. Replace the file there and every webinar using it serves the new version.

Troubleshooting

Check the time it becomes available. A handout timed to appear forty minutes in is genuinely absent before then.

Attach the file to the follow-up as well. Handout timings are relative to the session, so they are about the session.
