Confirmations and Reminders

Getting the right link into the right email.

Calendar Notification Email controls what a registrant receives. You set the subject, a headline and the body, and underneath it Pre-Webinar Reminders controls what goes out before the session starts.

Steps

Turn on the confirmation email

Write the subject, headline and body. This is the message that carries their link, so it is the one email you should not skip.

Use the right link

{join_link} is the one to reach for: it resolves to the video for an evergreen webinar and to the waiting room for everything else. {watch_url} always goes straight to the video, and {replay_url} goes to the replay.

Turn on reminders for a live or scheduled session

Reminder Type is either Use Email Template, where you pick one of your templates, or AI Generated (Segmentation Intelligence), where the reminder is written for each registrant.

Check the sending domain

None of this arrives on an unverified domain. It is the most common cause of "nobody got the confirmation".

Result

Registrants get a confirmation they can act on, and a nudge before the session. Each person's link is unique to them, which is what makes the watch time on your reports trustworthy.

Warning: Do not hand-write the watch URL into a template. The link contains a token unique to each registrant — a copied one sends everybody to the same attendance record, and your watch figures become meaningless.

Troubleshooting

Check the sending domain is verified first — that accounts for most cases. Then check the confirmation is actually switched on, since it can be left off.

You are using a fixed URL rather than {join_link}. The merge tag is what adapts to the type.

Slots start within minutes of registering, so there is usually no window for a reminder. Put everything that matters in the confirmation instead.
