Post-Registration Actions
What runs the moment someone signs up.
Post-Registration Actions is where a sign-up turns into follow-up. Each action is independent — use one, or all of them.
The actions
Add to Contact List
List
optional
Puts every registrant on a list. Useful whether or not you send anything immediately, because it gives you an audience to work with afterwards.
Add Tags
Comma separated
optional
Tags go onto the contact. These are what you segment on later, so a tag naming the webinar is usually worth it.
Send Confirmation Email or Enroll in Sequence
Either/or
optional
Send one confirmation, or enrol the registrant in a sequence so the webinar is the start of a longer conversation.
Send SMS Confirmation
Template
optional
A text as well as, or instead of, the email. Needs a phone number on the form.
Keep Contact Warm Until Webinar
Interval + start
optional
Emails between signing up and the session, so a seat booked three weeks out is not forgotten. You set how often they go and how long after registering they begin.
Info: Keep Contact Warm is the one that earns its keep on a live webinar booked well in advance. The gap between registering and attending is where no-shows are made, and a reminder that arrives in that gap is the cheapest attendance you will ever buy.
Which to use when
| If your webinar is | Worth turning on |
|---|---|
| Live, weeks away | Confirmation, keep warm, and reminders |
| Live, days away | Confirmation and reminders |
| Evergreen | Confirmation with the watch link; keep warm is pointless — they can watch now |
| Just-in-Time | Confirmation; the slot is minutes away, so reminders rarely arrive in time |
