How Just-in-Time Slots Work

Why two people see different times for the same webinar.

What It Is

A Just-in-Time webinar has no fixed schedule. When someone opens the registration page, the times they are offered are worked out then, for them — the next few sessions starting shortly, in their own timezone.

Two people in different countries looking at the same webinar at the same moment see different times. Both are correct.

Why It Matters

It is what makes a recording feel like an event.

"Watch our training video" gets bookmarked. "The next session starts at 2:15, and there is one at 2:30" gets attended. The slots are close enough to now that waiting is not worth it, and specific enough to feel like a commitment.

It also means you never think about timezones. You set a working window once and everyone, everywhere, is offered sensible local times inside it.

How It Works

You configure the pattern; Zyntro fills in the times.

What you set: which days of the week sessions run, the daily window they run between, the gap between one slot and the next, and the most slots to offer in a day. The defaults are weekdays, a 09:00 to 21:00 window and a 15-minute gap.

What is worked out for each visitor: the next available start, rounded up to the next quarter hour. Someone arriving at 10:23 is offered 10:30; at 10:31 they are offered 10:45. Slots outside your daily window are not offered, and at least two are always shown on a day that has any.

The times are stable. They are derived from the webinar, the visitor and the date, so refreshing the page shows the same slots rather than fresh ones. Two visitors in the same city are also shown the same times, which keeps the sense of a real session that other people are joining.

Examples

Scenario
A visitor in London at 10:23 on a Tuesday

With the default settings they are offered 10:30, then 10:45, then 11:00 — their time. Refreshing the page shows the same three.

Scenario
A visitor in New York at the same moment

It is 05:23 there, which is before the 09:00 window opens, so they are offered slots from 09:00 their time onwards — not the London times converted.

Scenario
A visitor at 21:40, after the window closes

No more slots today. They are offered the next day that your pattern allows.

Warning: Slots need the visitor's timezone, and there is deliberately no fallback — if it cannot be determined, the page reports that rather than quietly showing times in the wrong zone. Showing someone a session at 3am is worse than asking them to try again.
