The Business Card Scanner

AI-powered extraction from business card photos

The business card scanner uses AI vision to extract contact information from photos of business cards. Upload a photo, and Zyntro identifies the name, email, phone, company, title, and any other visible details.

Access it from Sales > CRM > Contacts > Card Scanner, or via the quick action button on the Contacts Dashboard.

Steps

Upload the front of the card

The front image is required. Drag and drop or click to upload. Supported formats: PNG, JPG, JPEG, WEBP, GIF (max 10MB each). A preview appears after selection.

Optionally add the back and supporting images

If the card has information on the back, upload that too. You can also add up to 3 supporting images for additional context — for example, a photo of a conference badge, a booth sign, or meeting notes that provide context about where you met this person.

Supporting images help the AI understand context. A conference badge photo tells Zyntro this is a conference lead, which influences source tagging and profile data generation.

Scan and extract

Click Scan & Extract Data. The AI processes the images and extracts contact information. This costs $0.05 per scan. Processing takes a few seconds.

Review extracted data

The scanned contact review page shows all extracted fields in an editable form — name, email, phone, company, title, and any other detected information. Review each field and correct any extraction errors.

In B2B/Mixed mode, entity selection appears — the AI may have already matched the extracted company name to an existing entity.

Save as contact

After reviewing, select an owner, pipeline stage, and optionally add to lists. Click Save to create the contact. The source is automatically tagged as "Card Scanner."

Result

A new contact is created from the business card data, enriched with AI extraction, and ready for SI engagement.

Tip: The card scanner has a **mobile mode** accessible via QR code. From the scanner page, click the QR code option to generate a shareable link. Open it on your phone to scan cards directly from your camera at conferences and events. You can even add it to your home screen for quick access.
