Generate Your Footer
Link columns, legal links, and a call to action that needs a destination that exists.
Step 6 generates your footer: the link columns, your social links, the legal links, the copyright line, and a call-to-action block.
It works like the header step — generate, preview at three sizes, edit the content directly, ask for design changes in prose. The one thing that needs deliberate attention is the call to action.
Steps
Generate the footer
Generate Your Footer builds a first version and explains its reasoning in the Footer Strategy panel — how it has grouped the columns and why.
The preview includes a spacer standing in for page content, so scroll down to see the footer where it will actually sit.
Deal with the call-to-action block
Every generated footer includes a call-to-action block: a headline, a short line of description, and a button. It is there on purpose — the footer is where a visitor who has read the whole page ends up, and it would be a waste to offer them nothing.
Two things to check. First, the button's link. Webby writes a sensible-looking destination, and that destination may be a page you have not built — a link to /demo is only useful once a demo page exists. Second, the wording, which is deliberately an invitation to a conversation rather than a newsletter sign-up, and should match how you actually want to be contacted.
Edit the footer content
Edit Footer Content opens everything textual for direct editing, free and immediately: column titles and their links, social links, legal links, the copyright and disclaimer lines, and the call to action's headline, description, button label and button link.
This is where you fix the call-to-action link. Save & Update Preview shows the result.
Ask for design changes
Use Ask Zyntro to change the footer's design or structure for layout and visual changes — the number of columns, how the social links are presented, how much space the call to action takes.
As with the header, describe the outcome: Reduce this to three columns and move the legal links into the bottom bar. This is charged, and the cost is shown first.
Check your legal links
The footer is where privacy policy and terms links belong, and the generated footer will include them. If you have not written those pages yet, note them — there is a page creation mode specifically for legal and policy content that formats pasted text into a clean page.
Accept and continue
Accept & Continue saves the footer. As with the header, you cannot continue without one, and it stays editable in Site Settings > Footer.
Result
A footer is saved against the site, with a call to action that points at a page you have built or intend to build.
