Generate Your Header
Generated from your brand, refined in plain language, and shared by every page.
Step 5 generates your header: the logo, the navigation, any dropdowns, and the call to action in the top right.
Webby builds it from what it already knows — your brand, what you sell, who you sell to, and the design system you just generated. You then refine it by describing what you want changed, and edit the navigation items directly.
This is shell, so every page you ever build will sit underneath it. It is worth the time.
Steps
Generate the header
Generate Your Header produces a first version and shows it in a live preview, with the Navigation Strategy panel explaining the thinking — why those items, in that order.
Read the strategy before you judge the header. It often explains a choice that looks odd at first, like grouping three offerings under one menu item instead of listing them flat.
Check it at every size
The preview has desktop, tablet and mobile controls, and a theme toggle. Use all of them.
There is also placeholder content below the header so you can scroll and watch it behave — most headers become sticky and gain a shadow as the page moves. The way a header behaves on scroll is as noticeable as the way it looks at rest.
Edit the navigation items
Edit Navigation Items opens the navigation for direct editing: labels, links, descriptions, and the items inside dropdowns. You can add and remove child items here.
This is free and immediate — no generation involved. Use it for anything that is really a wording or structure change rather than a design change. Save & Update Preview shows the result.
Ask for design changes in plain language
For anything structural or visual, use Ask Zyntro to change the header's design or structure and describe what you want.
Be specific about the outcome rather than the mechanism. Move the call to action into the mobile menu instead of keeping it in the bar works better than change the mobile breakpoint. Say what should be true when it is finished.
This is a charged action, and the cost is shown first.
The navigation has six items and feels crowded — group the three product pages under one menu. Weak prompts name a feeling: make it cleaner.Start over if you need to
Regenerate from Scratch discards the current header and builds a new one. Reach for this when several rounds of changes have pulled the header somewhere incoherent — a fresh start is usually faster than unpicking it.
Accept and continue
Accept & Continue keeps the header and moves on. You cannot continue past this step without a header, because every page needs one.
The header stays editable afterwards in Site Settings > Header, and because it is shell, a change there appears on every page as soon as you save.
Tip: Your navigation also tells Webby which pages you intend to build. Any internal link in the header that has no page yet shows up on Pages Recommended, ready to generate in one click — so a well-planned menu doubles as your build list.
Result
A header is saved against the site and used by every page.
