Prerequisites
- Zyntro Mobile — What pairing and installing mean
Install Zyntro Mobile on iPhone or iPad
Scan once from your computer, then add Zyntro to your Home Screen through Safari's share sheet
Before You Begin
- You understand what pairing and installing are, and how long each lasts
- An iPhone or iPad using Safari. This will not work in Chrome or Firefox on iOS — only Safari can add a web app to the Home Screen.
- Access to Zyntro on a computer, so you can display the QR code
There are two parts to this. You pair your device by scanning a code from your computer, which signs you in without typing anything. Then you add Zyntro to your Home Screen so it opens on its own, full-screen, like any app from the App Store.
iOS takes a few more taps than Android because Apple puts Add to Home Screen inside Safari's share sheet rather than offering an install button. The steps below walk through every one of them.
Important: This has to be done in Safari. Chrome and Firefox on iPhone cannot add a web app to the Home Screen — Apple does not give them the option. If you normally use another browser, open Zyntro in Safari just for these steps.
Steps
Open the Zyntro Mobile card on your computer
On the computer where you normally use Zyntro, go to Integrations and find the Mobile section at the top. Click the Zyntro Mobile card.
If your organisation is set up for insurance, this card is called Advisor+ Mobile instead. Everything below works the same way.
Scan the QR code with your phone
A panel opens with a QR code and the line "Scan this QR code with your phone camera to connect Zyntro Mobile."
Point your phone's camera at it — you do not need a separate QR app on either platform — and tap the notification that appears.
Your phone opens Zyntro already signed in. You will not be asked for your password on the phone, which is the main reason to pair this way rather than typing the address in by hand.
Two timings are worth knowing, and both are printed under the code: the QR code is valid for 30 days, and once you scan it your mobile session lasts 90 days.
Land on the welcome screen and dismiss the tip
Safari opens Zyntro and greets you by name, with a summary of what you get and a Get Started button.
A dark tip slides up from the bottom reading "Install Zyntro: tap Share, then Add to Home Screen." That is the short version of everything below. Tap Dismiss to get it out of the way — it will not come back during this visit.
Show the Safari toolbar
Safari hides its toolbar while you scroll. Tap the address bar at the bottom of the screen to bring it back.
You need the toolbar visible because the next step lives in it.
Open the menu
Tap the ••• button to the right of the address bar.
A menu slides up with options including Share, Add to Bookmarks and New Tab.
Tap Share
From that menu, tap Share.
This opens iOS's share sheet — the same panel you use to send a link to someone. Add to Home Screen lives inside it, which is why installing on iPhone goes through Share rather than an install button.
Choose Add to Home Screen
The share sheet opens showing Zyntro and app.zyntrohq.com at the top, with sharing options below.
Scroll down past Copy, Add to Bookmarks and Add to Reading List until you reach Add to Home Screen, then tap it.
It sits some way down the list, so keep scrolling if you do not see it immediately.
Confirm and tap Add
A panel appears titled Add to Home Screen, with the Zyntro icon, an editable name and the address underneath.
Leave the name as Zyntro unless you have a reason to change it — it is the label that appears under the icon.
Make sure Open as Web App stays switched on. That toggle is what makes Zyntro open full-screen with its own icon; switched off, you get a bookmark that opens in Safari instead.
Tap Add in the top-right corner.
Open it from your Home Screen
Zyntro is now on your Home Screen with its own orange icon.
Tap it to open. It launches full-screen with no Safari controls around it, and you are still signed in.
The first time you open it after installing, Zyntro may ask which brand you want to work in if your organisation has more than one. Pick one and you go straight to the app.
Result
Zyntro is installed on your iPhone or iPad and signed in for 90 days. The icon behaves like any other app — it can be moved, put in a folder, or dropped into your dock.
Back on your computer, the Zyntro Mobile card under Integrations now shows a green Paired badge, and opening it shows when you paired, when the session expires and when the device was last active.
Common questions
Zyntro Mobile is installed from your browser rather than distributed through the App Store. Once it is on your Home Screen it behaves the same way — its own icon, full screen, works offline — but there is no App Store listing to search for.
Only Safari can add a web app to the Home Screen on iOS. Open Zyntro in Safari and follow these steps there. You do not need to pair again — the pairing belongs to the device, not the browser.
Your device signs out and you pair it again from the same Zyntro Mobile card. The icon stays on your Home Screen; you are only re-establishing the session.
Open as Web App was switched off when you added it. Remove the icon from your Home Screen and repeat steps 5 to 7, leaving that toggle on.
Pairing connects one device at a time. Pairing a second disconnects the first — the panel warns you before it does.
Make sure the code is fully visible and try moving the phone a little further back. If it is more than 30 days old it has expired: close the panel and open the Zyntro Mobile card again for a fresh one.
