Follow a Broadcast While It Runs
Watch a campaign work, and look at any single delivery in detail.
Every broadcast has its own page, reached with View from the broadcast list. It is where you watch a campaign progress, check what was actually sent, and follow up on anything that went wrong.
The page serves both channels. An email campaign shows subjects and opens; a text campaign shows numbers and the message itself, and leaves out the columns that have no meaning for a text.
Before You Begin
- A broadcast that has been scheduled — a draft has no contacts enrolled and nothing to show
Steps
Open the campaign
Go to Communications > Email > Broadcasts or Communications > SMS > Broadcasts and press View on the campaign.
The list itself is a useful first read: each card shows the campaign's status, its type, how many contacts are enrolled, how many have been sent, and a percentage-complete bar. You can filter the list by Type (Simple or Intelligent) and by Status.
Read the counters
The tiles across the top give you the campaign at a glance: Total Contacts, Sent, Pending, Issues, then Unique Opens, Unique Clicks, Replies and Engagement Rate.
Pending is everything still in flight — waiting its turn, being written, awaiting review, or ready to send — so on an intelligent campaign it starts high and falls steadily. Issues is failures plus messages held back by their review, and is the number worth watching.
Check the campaign's own settings
Below the counters, cards summarise what this campaign was set up to do: its Audience (the list, or the filter conditions that built it), its Schedule including the send window, the send days and the timezone they are read in, and — for an intelligent campaign — the Objective and the Mandates attached to it.
A Sender card appears for email campaigns. Text campaigns send from your organization's messaging service and have no sender to choose, so the card is not shown.
Work through the contact table
The table lists every enrolled contact with their status, when their message was scheduled and sent, and — for email — whether they opened, clicked or replied.
Use the All Statuses dropdown to narrow it: Queued, Generating, Pending, Sent, Failed, Quarantined, or by engagement — Opened, Clicked, Replied. Load More pages through a long audience.
Selecting contacts enables Add to List, which copies your selection into an existing static list or a new one. This is the quickest way to turn a result into a follow-up audience — everyone who clicked, say, or everyone whose message failed.
Inspect a single delivery
View Details on any row opens a panel showing exactly what that contact received.
For an email: the subject, the sender, the full message body as it was sent, open and click counts, and any reply.
For a text: the number it went to, the message itself with its line breaks intact, and any reply that came back from that number. A text has no subject and nothing to open, so those fields are left out rather than shown as empty or zero.
Result
You can see what a campaign has done, what it is still doing, and what any individual contact received — and you can turn any slice of that into a list for the next step.
Troubleshooting
Check the send window and the send days on the Schedule card, and the timezone beside them. Outside the window nothing is written or sent — the campaign resumes when the window opens again.
That is expected. There is nothing to open in a text, so those measures do not apply. Replies do, and are counted.
Their message was written but did not pass its review, so it was held back rather than sent. Nothing is wrong with the campaign; it continues with the rest of the audience.
