Turning a Testimonial into a Case Study

A testimonial is proof at the length of a quote or a few paragraphs. A case study is the same story told at length, as a piece of content in its own right.

Zyntro can produce one from any testimonial, using the material you already supplied. You can ask for it up front or decide later.

Before You Begin

Steps

Decide when to ask for it

You can turn on Create Case Study? while creating the testimonial, which produces both from one submission. Or you can leave it and decide later — nothing is lost by waiting, and reading the testimonial first usually tells you whether it is worth expanding.

To add one later, open the testimonial

Go to Brand Intelligence > Testimonials and open the testimonial. If no case study exists yet, you will find a Case Study panel offering to create one, naming the customer the story is about.

Say what to focus on

The guidance box — Anything you'd like us to focus on? — is optional but worth using. It is where you steer the emphasis: which result matters most, which objection the piece should answer, which audience it is aimed at.

Without guidance the case study is written from the testimonial material alone, which is a reasonable default but a general one.

Create it

Click Create Case Study. The cost is shown next to the button. Production happens in the background, as with the testimonial itself.

Read it on the testimonial

The finished case study appears as its own section on the same testimonial, under a Case Study tab. The testimonial and the case study stay together rather than becoming two separate records.

Result

The testimonial now carries a full case study alongside the shorter forms, built from the same customer story and shaped by your guidance.

Tip: Expand the testimonials with numbers in them. A case study is a long piece, and length exposes thin material — a story with reconciliation went from three days to four hours has something to build on, while they were very happy does not. If a testimonial reads thinly, improving its answers is a better use of the money than expanding it.

Info: The guidance you give shapes the writing but does not override the facts. The case study is built from the testimonial's material, so asking it to emphasise something the testimonial does not establish will not invent it. If there is a result you want the piece to lead on, make sure it is in the testimonial first.

Important: Asking for a case study while creating the testimonial means two paid operations from one submission — the testimonial and the case study. The case study charge is separate from, and additional to, the cost of writing the testimonial.
