What Verification Costs, and When You Are Refunded

Prices per contact, what the charge covers, and the outcomes that are paid back

Verification is charged per contact, up front, from your organisation's wallet. The whole amount is taken when you confirm the job, and the refund for anything unanswerable is issued once the job finishes.

The price is shown on the button, again on the confirmation, and again as Total charged now before you commit.

Prices

What is checked Price Speed
One email address $0.02 Checked in batches. A few thousand takes minutes
One phone number $0.03 Checked one at a time, around 300 an hour
One contact, from its own page The same per-contact rate Immediate. The cost is confirmed before it runs

Info: The price is frozen onto the job when you confirm it. A later price change cannot alter what you were charged or what you are refunded for that job.

What is refunded, and what is not

Outcome Refunded? Why
The provider confirmed the address or number No You asked a question and got an answer
The provider rejected the address or number No A negative answer is still an answer, and finding out is the value
The provider could not reach a verdict after three attempts Yes No answer was delivered. The contact moves into unresolved
The provider could not be reached at all Yes Same reason. The contact stays as never checked, because nothing was successfully asked
The contact was deleted after you submitted the job No The contact was in scope when you were quoted and the work was done on it
The address or number was edited after you submitted the job No Same reason. The answer is discarded rather than written onto the new value

Warning: Retry unresolved is a second charge for the same contacts. It is honest work — a provider that declined once often answers on a later attempt — but it is new money, and the confirmation says so. If it comes back unresolved again, it is refunded again.

Before the charge

Check If it fails
You are an active administrator The job is refused. Nothing is charged
No other unfinished job on this channel The job is refused and the running job's progress is shown instead
The group still contains contacts that need checking The job is refused with an explanation. Nothing is charged
A price is configured for this channel The buttons stay disabled and say so
Your wallet covers the amount The job is refused and the exact top-up needed is named. Nothing is charged, nothing queued

Tip: Contacts with nothing on a channel are never charged for. They are counted separately as have no address or have no number and excluded from every job, which is why a group of 10,000 contacts can resolve to a job of 8,500.
