The Verification Groups
Every count in the verification banner, what it holds, and what you can do with it
The verification banner on Manage Contacts has one row per channel. Each row shows the counts for that channel, separated by dots, and each count is a button that opens the contacts behind it.
A group only appears when it has something in it, so a healthy account shows fewer counts than one that has never been verified. never checked and flagged unverified are always shown.
The groups
| Group | What it holds | Can you check it? |
|---|---|---|
| never checked | The contact holds an address or number and no provider has ever been asked about it. | Yes |
| unresolved | A provider was asked and could not reach a verdict, after three attempts. These were refunded. | Yes — a second attempt at the same contacts |
| flagged unverified | The contact's stored flag says unverified. Shown because it is the number most accounts have been working from. | Yes, with a caveat below |
| verified | A provider confirmed the address or number. | No |
| risky or catch-all | Email only. Accepted by a domain that accepts every address, or carrying a risk signal such as a role address. | No — this is a subset of verified, not a separate group |
| unreachable | A provider rejected the address or number. | No. The answer will not change |
| have no address / have no number | Contacts with nothing on this channel to check. | No |
Info: flagged unverified overlaps never checked on purpose — a contact that no importer ever stamped is in both. The job resolves the overlap before charging, so running the small group and then the large one does not pay twice for the same contact.
unresolved is the one group that does not overlap. Those contacts carry a stored non-answer, so Verify never-checked can never re-buy them by accident.
The buttons on each row
| Button | What it checks | When it appears |
|---|---|---|
| Verify never-checked | Every contact in the never-checked group for that channel. | Always. Disabled at zero |
| Verify flagged | Contacts whose flag says unverified and which also have no provider evidence yet. | Always. Disabled at zero |
| Retry unresolved | A second attempt at the contacts a provider could not answer about. | Only when there is at least one |
Warning: Verify flagged checks only the contacts in that group that have no provider evidence, so the job can be smaller than the count on the button. You are charged for the number the server resolves when you confirm, which is never more than the figure shown.
