Where Acquired Leads Land
What exists in your CRM a few minutes after a lead passes
What It Is
A lead that clears your threshold does not sit in Lens waiting to be imported. It is pushed straight into your CRM as an ordinary contact, and from that moment it behaves like any other contact you have.
Several things are created at once, which is worth knowing so you recognise them later.
How It Works
A contact. The person becomes a contact record carrying their name, title, seniority, location, verified email address and — on Premium — their direct phone number.
An entity. Their company is created or matched as an entity, with the enrichment attached: headcount, revenue, description, technology stack and keywords. The contact is linked to it, so the company exists as a thing in your CRM rather than as a text field on one person.
A note. The qualification reasoning is written onto the contact, so whoever picks up the conversation can see why this person was considered a fit without going back to Lens.
An owner. The contact is assigned to the stream's default lead owner, or distributed randomly among the team pool if you selected one.
A first-touch email, about half an hour later. The outreach is queued with a short delay rather than sent instantly, then composed as your chosen communicator using the company enrichment, the intent signals and your attached mandates.
A sequence, if you attached one. The contact is enrolled, and follow-ups continue automatically after the first email.
Why It Matters
Because the company arrives as an entity rather than a string, a second lead from the same business links to the same organisation instead of creating a duplicate. That is what makes Lens output usable at volume — ten contacts at one company are ten contacts at one company, not ten unrelated rows.
And because the reasoning lands as a note, the context survives the handover. Whoever replies to the first email can see what the lead was judged on.
Examples
A lead passes at 91 against a threshold of 80.
Within a minute or two there is a contact in your CRM, an entity for their employer with the enrichment attached, a note explaining the score, and an owner. About half an hour later the first-touch email goes out as your communicator. Nobody touched anything.
You push a quarantined lead through manually.
Exactly the same thing happens — contact, entity, note, owner, first touch. The only difference is that the note records the decision as a manual approval rather than carrying the original scoring breakdown.
Two leads from the same company are acquired a week apart.
The second contact links to the entity created by the first rather than making a new one, so the company's record accumulates rather than fragmenting.
Info: The short delay before the first touch is deliberate. It leaves a window in which the contact exists and can be seen before anything is sent — useful if you want to check what a newly active stream is actually producing before its first emails go out.
Important: Once a lead is pushed it is a normal CRM contact, independent of Lens. Pausing, editing or deleting the stream does not affect it, and its sequence continues regardless. If you need outreach to a pushed contact to stop, manage it on the contact — not on the stream.
Tip: The lead's drawer in Lens offers View Contact once it has been pushed, which is the quickest route from the scoring reasoning to the live conversation.
