Pushing Through or Discarding a Lead

Two of the three quarantine actions are final decisions about the lead itself rather than about which stream it belongs in.

Push Through says the score is wrong and you want this person contacted anyway. Discard says the score is right and you are done with them.

Steps

Decide which the score got wrong

Read the scoring breakdown first. The question is not whether the lead is attractive, but whether the stream's message is true for them. A lead that lost its points on Role-Objective Alignment or Industry Fit is being told it is in the wrong campaign — pushing it through means sending a message built on a premise that does not apply. A lead that only lost points on Timing or Competitive Displacement is a genuine fit the pass was cautious about, and is a much better candidate for an override.

To contact them anyway, choose Push Through

In the drawer footer, click Push Through — labelled Push Through Anyway in a feeder stream. Confirm when asked. The lead is treated as qualified: a contact is created in your CRM, allocated to an owner, and queued for the first-touch email, exactly as if it had cleared the threshold.

To close them out, choose Discard

Click Discard and confirm. The lead is marked rejected. Nothing is sent, no contact is created, and it leaves the quarantine tab.

For many leads at once, use the bulk bar

Tick the checkboxes in the Quarantined tab and use the bar that appears at the bottom of the screen. This is the practical way to clear a quarantine full of leads that all failed for the same reason.

Result

A pushed lead is now an ordinary CRM contact in conversation, and its drawer offers View Contact instead of the quarantine actions. A discarded lead is marked rejected and drops out of the tab.

Which action to use

The lead is Use Why
A genuine fit the pass scored cautiously — good on role and industry, marked down on timing Push Through The campaign's message is true for them. You are overruling caution, not the premise
Capable and reachable, but in the wrong business for this campaign Move to another stream Worth talking to, but not about this. A feeder will judge them against your business as a whole
Wrong for this campaign and wrong for your business Discard There is no stream where the message would be true. Keeping them costs review time and nothing else
Quarantined by a feeder as well as by the stream that found it Discard Turned down by a targeted stream and by the catch-all. Discarding is the honest next step

Warning: Pushing a lead through commits you to the outreach. The first-touch email is composed and queued as soon as the contact is created, so this is not a staging step you can inspect before anything is sent. Be sure the campaign's premise applies to the person.

Important: A manual push through records that the decision was yours. The lead's qualification detail is replaced with a note saying it was quarantined but manually approved for outreach, which means the original scoring breakdown is not retained. If you want to keep the reasoning — to compare against how the lead actually performs — read it before you push, or move the lead instead, since a move preserves the prior score and reasoning in its history.

Tip: Discarding is reversible in the sense that the lead's record and its enrichment remain — it is marked rejected rather than deleted, and you are not charged again for data you already bought. But it will not re-enter outreach on its own, and a lead already pushed to your CRM cannot be discarded from here.
